Dan in Real Life is predictable, and its characters rarely venture into unknown territory. It makes for a passable rental, but not much else.

Seven Pounds is a great concept but executed with poor vision. The supporting cast is well chosen, with Dawson, Harrelson and Pepper being high points.

Funny People is funny, touching and rings true, even through all its comic exaggeration. Apatow's direction is poised and appropriate to the subject matter.

At times , The Curious Case of Benjamin Button feels like more of a story for Zemeckis or Spielberg but Fincher succeeds in his effort, if only barely.
